Job Description

We are looking for highly skilled and motivated freelance linguists to join our team. As a freelance linguist, you will be responsible for providing accurate and culturally appropriate translations for a variety of content, including technical documents and multimedia files.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate and adapt content from source language to target language while maintaining accuracy, tone, and cultural sensitivity.
  • Proofread and review translations for accuracy, consistency, and cultural appropriateness.
  • Conduct terminology research and create glossaries to ensure consistency in translations.
  • Manage translation projects, including setting deadlines and communicating with project managers.
  • Collaborate with other linguists and editors to ensure the highest quality of translations.
  • Use translation tools and software to improve efficiency and consistency in translations.
  • Provide cultural insights and suggestions to clients to improve the effectiveness of translated content.

Requirements

  • Native or near-native proficiency in both source and target languages.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Linguistics, or the field of specialisation.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in translation and localisation.
  • Extensive knowledge of cultural norms and customs in both source and target languages.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in the use of translation tools and software.
